Control panel
Why it matters
If the control panel cannot communicate, no signal reaches your phone or the Monitoring Station.
What we check
- Operation and software updates
- Link to every device and signal strength
- Fault and event history
Batteries
Why it matters
In a power cut the system runs on its batteries alone. A tired battery takes it offline.
What we check
- Control panel backup battery
- Detector and siren batteries
- Replacement before they run flat
Contact
Why it matters
The system must send signals even when the internet drops or the line is cut.
What we check
- Internet, mobile network and SIM card
- Test signal to the Monitoring Station
Keypad
Why it matters
It is how you arm and disarm: it has to respond instantly.
What we check
- Keys, card reader and indicators
- Codes and users
Sirens
Why it matters
The siren deters and warns anyone nearby. If it cannot be heard, the first minute is lost.
What we check
- Volume and operation in a test
- Mounting and tamper protection
Contacts & detectors
Why it matters
A shifted contact or a dusty detector means false alarms or, worse, an unprotected spot.
What we check
- Test of every contact and detector
- Cleaning and alignment
- Wiring, where present
Fire Detection
Why it matters
An unchecked smoke detector may not respond when it matters.
What we check
- Test with detector test gas
- Maintenance log and certificate
